I recently decided to satisfy my craving for Korean food by visiting Jagalchi, a place I discovered on Yelp that's somewhat hidden off the beaten path. I was pleasantly surprised by what I found. The restaurant offers free parking either on the street or in a small adjacent lot, which is a great convenience. Upon entering Jagalchi, I was immediately struck by its cleanliness. The restaurant has recently undergone renovations, and it shows. One notable aspect is the lack of the overwhelming fried oil smell that can cling to your skin and clothes in some fast-food court environments. Instead, Jagalchi feels and smells fresh and clean, a trait that not all restaurants, especially Korean ones, manage to maintain. The service was welcoming and efficient. Our server was knowledgeable and guided us through the menu effectively. We started with crispy seaweed rolls for an appetizer. They were exactly as I hoped: perfectly crispy, served with a delightful sesame sauce that complemented the seaweed's flavor. For our main course, we chose the rabokki combo with cheese, which was impressively substantial. The dish included not only cheese and crispy seaweed rolls but also ramen, egg, and other tasty components. The food arrived hot and fresh, with flavors that were more sweet than spicy--surprising, given the intimidatingly red appearance of the dish. For those wary of spicy foods, this dish proves to be quite manageable. Overall, my experience at Jagalchi was very positive, and it's certainly a place I'd return to. The combination of clean settings, helpful service, and tasty, well-prepared food makes it a standout option for Korean cuisine lovers.

Was craving tekbokki and wanted to try a new place. What caught my eye was the free appetizer when checking in on Yelp Free appetizer was the seaweed roll which was so good!!! You don't get to pick the appetizer. We had already ordered the rabbokki combo without realizing that it came with seaweed roll - got it with cheese of course. Perfect for 2 and leftovers. The table next to us was this cute older couple that shared one of the pancakes. They had leftovers too! Great banchan. Will come back!

Came here twice in the past month for bossam and wings. No reservation needed, or any wait time for a table. Table was cleaned for us before seating us. Portions are generous and food is good. Vibe is fun. Service can be slow but there is a call button on each table. Wing flavor was incorrect but they quickly corrected and apologized for the error. The way they rectified this situation is what drove me to write this review. Thank you for the hospitality! Mahalo Slade!!

I've seen Jagalchi that features "pocha" food on a couple of YouTube segments and had to try it. The food is quite authentic and tasty! We had the Happy Hour (3 pm to 5 pm everyday) combo of Lemon Soju & the Rambokki combo (ramen + teobokki + mando + deep fried battered noodles wrapped in seaweed) meal, Seafood Jeon (best jeon I've had so far), and the infamous Bossam which every YouTube channel highly recommended. Needless to say, despite the hype, we were surprised and impressed. Yummy! The wait staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the ambiance of Jagalchi is more like a neighborhood bar and grill (pocha atmosphere) in a good way. The quantity of food is more than adequate, we had a lot of take home. More importantly, the taste was spot on and authenticity Korean "pocha". We'll be back to try more of their extensive menu. Looking forward to trying the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) combo, LA Galbi, Spicy Pork on sizzling platter, and the Jokbal (pork hocks). Next time we'll bring friends to help with all the tastings we want to try.

Got there on a Saturday around 6p and we were able to get a table without waiting. The place was popping off with loud Korean pop music. I think I'm getting a bit old, as the music was too loud for me to have a conversation with my group (the only reason I gave this place a 4 star). We were also very lucky to get a parking stall right up front. The servers were checking on us periodically and even apologized that the galbi would take awhile to grill up. If you wanted quicker service, they have call buttons at each table. The food is spot on! Galbi and meat jun are flavorful. The Shoyu Garlic Wings comes with fries, and I used the fries to soak up all the yummy shoyu garlic sauce! The banchan was only one round (not unlimited servings) so enjoy sparingly. Everything that we had was a winner!

Dinner in Honolulu, Hawaii... My friends were looking for a place to have dinner and I suggested Jagalchi because most of us hadn't been there before. I called many times to make a reservation, but the phone call wouldn't go through. Luckily, Peter knew how to make a reservation, so he did! He even got the private room for the nine of us! Thank you! Paul did all of the ordering, taking into account our food allergies. We had more than enough of everything - banchan, kalbi, mandoo, chicken wings, bossam, and kimchi salad! Service was very friendly and attentive! They even provided extra plates and forks... and a knife for the cake we brought in. I appreciate that they let us store the cake in their refrigerator until dessert time! We enjoyed the free parking, air-conditioning, and yummy food! The squash jun was my favorite!

***4.5 STARS*** It's such a great feeling when you are able to check off a bookmark, especially with a great experience. You see, I've had Jagalchi under the radar when seeing mouth watering pics of their bossam with raw oysters, one of my favorite Korean dishes to eat. So when my foodie friends suggested we come here to celebrate my birthday, I graciously agreed. Located in the same area of Spero Spera along Young Street, Jagalchi specializes in Korean cuisine that's authentic, as well as keeping up with current food trends. Shout out to Peter Y. and Auntie (aka Nadine C.) for suggesting and making reservations. Peter scored the private dining area for us which sat our lively group of 9. Parking is challenging as it's a shared lot with multiple businesses so I had to park on Young Street when I arrived as it was a full house. Upon entry, I was caught off guard as I didn't know what to expect. Jagalchi is a homey restaurant that seems like what you'd get from a Korean home. But the food quality was from a restaurant. I had the honor of ordering for our hungry group. Prior to dining here, I reviewed their food pics on Yelp and jotted down a list of dishes that got my attention. I shared my list with them and took suggestions of what to add and eliminate. Overall, the food here is delicious. We noticed that their fried and deep fried dishes were executed well. The mandoo, seaweed rolls, chicken wings, squash jun, seafood pancake and chive pancake were all winners. The LA Galbi was served on top of sliced onions on a sizzling platter. Very tender and so delicious. For me personally, I really wanted bossam, tender pork that you wrap with blanched cabbage, spicy dried daikon, sliced jalapeño and raw garlic. Key to this dish is the briny, raw oysters which I just love. For 9 people I ordered the large platter that was impressive as it arrived. We snapped photos and it was time to dig in. First bite and I was in heaven. Pork was succulent and so tender. The cabbage was still al dente which provided another level of texture contrast. The dried daikon gave it crunch with a slightly sweet and spiciness. Genius. My dining mates, however, didn't appreciate bossam as much as me so we had quite a bit of leftovers where I gladly took home the leftovers. Service was above average where the staff were so friendly. They kindly refrigerated the birthday cake while we ate dinner and provided plates and metal forks for our dessert. So why not 5-stars? The ban chan served to us was underwhelming where a handful of us noticed and commented. Staff did bring us refills upon request but the quality, quantity and volume was didn't make par. There was also an error in our billing. Luckily my friend checked and after the error was addressed, the bill was adjusted. In closing, I am glad to have finally tried Jagalchi, especially after witnessing their bossam. Glad to report that I'm willing to drag my family here one day many of their entrees were fabulous and would love to eat them again and share this experience with loved ones. 2024 #70

Celebrating a friend's birthday at Jagalchi w/ other Yelpers . Jagalchi is located on Young St cross street is Keeamoku. My favorite was the seafood Pancake and the variety wings. Their Kalbi was a little tough although it had a good taste. Their Bachan was ok not too fancy but you can order more if you wanted . Thanks to auntie Nadine reserving a nice private small area on the side of the restaurant. The restaurant is fairly small but the service was great. The food came out very quick and all at once . Parking lot is very small they share with other businesses. Hours here at Jagalchi is from 7:30a-11:00pm which I thought wow you can have Korean for breakfast lol Support Local

Another great night to celebrate our yelp friend Paul C. He did the ordering and the food was family style. From their banchan, zucchini, kalbi, fried mandoo, chive pancake, seafood pancake, seaweed roll, bossam with oysters,(pork belly, Napa cabbage, spicy radish). 3 combo wings platter (Classic, garlic soy, sweet and spicy). Also complimentary Kim chee salad. The service was good came with water if course checking on us to see if we had everything. Small down fall when we were ready to pay the bill they charged us for beer which nobody ordered. They did take it off the bill if Daniel C didn't catch it we all would just paid the bill. All in all good friends like always and the food was good. Thank you Nadine C for the bday cake, Peter Y. for making the reservations. Next outing to celebrate Craig T. Bday.
